Senior Chief Gee enlisted in the Navy on the 15th of August, 2001. He completed Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, followed by Basic Enlisted Submarine School at Groton, CT. Then Graduated from MT “A” school in Kings Bay, Georgia and Trident I C4 “C” School in November of 2002. Following initial schooling in November 2002, he transferred to his first sea command, USS HENRY M JACKSON (SSBN 730) GOLD in Bangor, WA. While on the USS HENRY M JACKSON he became an integral piece of starting the ship on the process of C4 to D5 Conversion. Significant duties that he held during his sea tour included Work Center Supervisor for the command’s 3M program and Quality Assurance Inspector for the command’s QA Program. He completed 7 Patrols.
In April of 2005 he transferred to USS GEORGIA (SSGN 729) and became the Deck Division LPO and later the First Lieutenant during The Silent Hammer Experiment and a Panama Canal Transit. Also, he qualified Chief of the Watch as a 3rd Class and Diving Officer of the Watch as a 2nd Class.
In 2006, he transferred to TRIDENT Training Facility Bangor as a Second Class Petty Officer. During his tenure at TTF, he served as the Formal Schools Leading Petty Officer for two years. Also while at TTF he qualified Master Training Specialist and was the Trident Training Facility Junior Sailor of the Year and Submarine Learning Center Junior Instructor of the Year 2007.
Also during his tenure at TTF, he was sent on Individual Augmentee to Task Force RAVEN in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba from October 2006 to May 2007. He served as a Sergeant of the Guard at JTF-GTMO and was a part of the Naval Expeditionary Guard Battalion. Following his TTF tour, he was stationed on the USS LOUISIANA (SSBN 743) BLUE in December 2009. While on SSBN 743 he served as the Missile Division Leading Petty Officer and he completed various inspections with above average ratings coupled with multiple Explosive Handling Wharf Periods with zero deficiencies. He completed 11 patrols.
Following his tour on USS LOUISIANA, Senior Chief Gee was assigned to Strategic Weapons Facility- Pacific from 2013-2016 and served for 1 year in the Vertical Missile Processing Building and after being selected for Chief, became The Leading Chief Petty Officer of the Explosives Handling Wharf, and oversaw construction of EHW 2.
Following his tour at SWFPAC, Senior Chief Gee served as the Strategic Weapons System Master Chief onboard USS NEVADA from 2016-2018, where his division earned the Strategic “S”, Battle “E” and the Omaha Trophy. He completed 3 patrols, bringing his total number to 20. Senior Chief Gee has served in Temporary Duty onboard USS ALABAMA as a Strategic Weapons Advisor, SUBRON 17 as Certification Evaluator for ships control and strategic employment, and NSSC Bangor as the Force Protection Officer between 2017 and 2019. He currently serves as Strategic Weapons Systems Prospective Commanding Officer Instructor at TRIDENT Training Facility, Bangor WA. Senior Chief Gee’s personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (7), Good Conduct Medal (7), National Defense Medal, Meritorious Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (2), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and Oversees Service Ribbon. Campaign medals include the Iraq Campaign medal and The Afghanistan Campaign Medal. He holds the Submarine Warfare Insignia, Strategic Deterrent Patrol Pin (19 stars) and the Expeditionary Warfare Insignia. In 2018, he was awarded “Admiral of the Texas Navy” by Governor Greg Abbott for service to the United States and the State of Texas.
